This is one of Peg's favorite books. It is the first novel from Dennis Lehane (author of the book MYSTIC RIVER and made into a movie directed by Clint Eastwood). Why does Peg love it so? It's set in Boston - and accurately describes the area - Patrick Kenzie's narration is pure Boston Irish wit and the pace is fast. Perfect book to read if you want a page turner!

The Daughter of Time
|
 by Josphine Tey
|
ISBN: 0684803860, Paperback -$11.20 BUY
This book was recommended to Peg after she raved about the movie "Looking for Richard", a documentary by Al Pacino - filmed while making the Shakespearan Play "Richard III". (the movie is excellent by the way - please rent it one night!)
I find this book interesting in that it "challenges" the historical references to Richard III. It is helpful to remember to "stop" and "think" about what we all take for granted.
The book is in the "mystery" genre and aptly so. It gives a new twist on how to perceive King Richard III. Evil, Kind, or indifferent?

The E-Myth Revisited - Why Most Small Businesses Don't Work and What to Do About It
|
 by Michael E. Gerber
|
ISBN: 0887307280, Paperback -$9.60 BUY
Michael Gerber's The E-Myth Revisited should be required reading for anyone thinking about starting a business or for those who have already taken that fateful step. The title refers to the author's belief that entrepreneurs--typically brimming with good but distracting ideas--make poor business people. He establishes an incredibly organized and regimented plan, so that daily details are scripted, freeing the entrepreneur's mind to build the long-term success of the business. You don't need an M.B.A. to understand or follow its directives; Gerber takes time to explain buzzwords and complex theories. Read in a clear and well-paced manner, listening to The-E Myth is like receiving advice from an old friend.

First, Break All the Rules - What the World's Greatest Managers Do Differently
|
 by Marcus Buckingham, Curt Coffman
|
ISBN: 0684852861, Hardcover -$18.90 BUY
Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman expose the fallacies of standard management thinking in First, Break All the Rules: What the World's Greatest Managers Do Differently. In seven chapters, the two consultants for the Gallup Organization debunk some dearly held notions about management, such as "treat people as you like to be treated"; "people are capable of almost anything"; and "a manager's role is diminishing in today's economy." "Great managers are revolutionaries," the authors write. "This book will take you inside the minds of these managers to explain why they have toppled conventional wisdom and reveal the new truths they have forged in its place."

Wuthering Heights
|
 by Emily Bronte
|
ISBN: 1593083610, Paperback -$7.95 BUY
Every Book List needs a classic! And what better classic than one of love! Okay, perhaps it is a "love done wrong" book. Although this is book is fiction, it fairly represents the effects of miscommunication and preconceived notions on how other people think.
